Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin (born Winnipeg, raised in Wellington) is a Canadian actress from Canada. Paquin is a native of Canada and actress from New Zealand. Born in Winnipeg but raised in Wellington, she made her first acting appearance on screen in The Piano. In this romantic drama film at the age of 11, Paquin won her second Oscar for Best Actress. Anna Paquin's full name was Anna Helene Paquin. Born July 24th 1982 on the 24th of July 1982 in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, she was an Canadian birthed New Zealand actress. As an infant, she won the Academy Award for best support actress. The role she played as the enthusiastic and lively young girl Holly Hunter played in The Piano (1993) brought her the award. As a result of an audition Flora McGrath was cast as the daughter a Scottish musician. Flora McGrath is the child of a mute Scottish musician, who emigrated from Scotland to New Zealand to marry in the 19th century. She moved from New Zealand to United States as a teen. Paquin was Jane Eyre's protagonist as a teen in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (2000) as well as the main role for the character in Fly Away Home (2000). Paquin portrayed Frankie Addams as a child in the 1996 television film adaptation Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. Paquin also had a role of the queen of Spain, in Steven Spielbergs 1997 feature film Amistad. She was a teenager in Hurlyburly (1998) She's All That (1999) and A Walk on the Moon (1999) and portrayed the character of a groupie Polexia Aphrodisa in Almost Famous (2000).
